PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polyuronic acid having excellent dispersion ability or salt thereof.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to [1] a modified polyuronic acid represented by the following general formula (1) or [2] a polymer dispersant comprising the modified polyuronic acid or salt thereof as an active ingredient (where X is an oxygen atom or a -NH-group; Ris a hydrogen atom or a group represented by formula (2) (-(AO)/(EO)-R); a plurality of Rs present in a molecule may be the same or different, excluding the case that all of them are hydrogen atoms; [n/(m+n)] is 0.5-1.0; and in formula (2), EO is an ethyleneoxy group, AO is an alkanediyloxy group having 3-5 carbon atoms, Ris a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms, a is 1-50, b is 1-30, and (a/b) is 0.5-50). |
