PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech enhancement device suitable for digital processing and software processing.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a speech enhancement device in which gain enhancement means multiplies a speech signal by a gain to enhance it. The speech enhancement device includes: means for calculating the absolute value or the square value of the sample value of a speech signal as a level of each sample; means for calculating the sum total of the predetermined number of samples of the sample level; and means for calculating a quotient or the square root of the quotient obtained by dividing the sum total of the sample level of a processing object section by the sum total of the sample level of the section just before as the gain.
