Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for learning a region of interest for detecting an object of interest. The apparatus for learning the area of interest for detecting an object of interest sets a detection event rule with respect to the region of interest which detects a resized particular size and the object of interest based on the object of interest detected by sliding a unit window on each resized image in which an image frame is converted by a predetermined size.
