The invention relates to a public lighting device (1) comprising a circuit powered with voltage from a distribution grid (2) and at least one lamp (4) connected to the circuit and having a pre-determined threshold cut-out voltage. The circuit comprises: transformation means (5) for transforming the supply voltage into a lower light-up voltage, the value of the light-up voltage being between the threshold cut-out voltage and the supply voltage; and switching means (7) that can be used to select a value for the light-up voltage, said value corresponding to the type of lamp (4). |
