The invention relates to a selector for a tap changer for switching among winding taps of a step transformer without interruption, wherein the selector consists of a plurality of honeycomb segments arranged horizontally one over the other and vertically next to each other, which honeycomb segments can be fixed to each other by contact holders and pins. According to the invention, by means of such a modular design, a large variety of selector variants is possible using only few components.
