The bearing system with an integrated back-up bearing comprises a first ring (2) mounted on a rotating shaft (1), a second ring (3) rigidly connected to a fixed frame (10) and first and second series of rolling members (4a, 4b) interposed between the first and second rings (2, 3) and lubricating members (31, 32) for lubricating the first and second series of rolling members (4a, 4b). The system further comprises a backup journal bearing (5) interposed between the first and second rings (2, 3) and between the first and second series of rolling members (4a, 4b), and the lubricating members (31, 32, 33) are produced in such a way as to interpose an oil film in the clearances (8, 9) provided between the first ring (2) and the backup journal bearing (5) and between the second ring (3) and the backup journal bearing (5), the clearance (8) provided between the backup journal bearing (5) and the first ring (2) being greater than the operating clearance of the first and second series of rolling members (4a, 4b) in the entire thermal operating range of the bearing system. |
