Provided are a diaphragm valve that prevents an excessive load from acting on a diaphragm due to overtightening, and a method for assembling such a diaphragm valve. A female screw member (18) is screwed onto the upper end of a male screw part (11) provided to a stem (3). When the female screw member (18) reaches a suitable closed position on the stem (3), the female screw member (18) comes into contact with the upper end of a bonnet (5) and prevents the stem (3) from moving further downward.
