Provided is a remote control for a household appliance. The remote control comprises a micro processor (11), a random access memory (12), a permanent memory (13) and a keyboard (14), and the remote control also comprises a voice synthesis chip (15), or a voice synthesis chip and a voice recording/playing chip; the remote control also comprises a loudspeaker (16) or a buzzer, and the remote control also comprises an infrared transmitter/receiver (17), and/or a radio-frequency transmitter/receiver; wherein the micro processor (11) controls the voice synthesis chip (15) or the voice recording/playing chip to generate a series of voice operation or setting instructions for an operator to set or operate the remote control following the voice operation or setting instructions step by step. The remote control has a storage library in which a series of television station names are pre-stored, channel numbers are attached or are not attached behind the television station names, the voice operation or setting instructions are used for guiding the operator to search for favourite television stations, television station names and channels, and to transmit, revise or add channel numbers following the voice operation or setting instructions step by step. The setting of the remote control is easy to achieve and the usage and operation are simple and easy to achieve as well. |
