The present invention provides nucleotides specific to providencia O31, O41, O42, O43 and O50 serotypes and uses thereof. The nucleotides comprise: 1) at least one of the nucleotides represented by SEQ ID NO: 1-10; and 2) at least one of the nucleotides complementary with the nucleotides represented by SEQ ID NO: 1-10. The nucleotides can be used for preparing PCR kits and gene chips for detecting the providencia.
