PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which: as the size and thickness of a glass substrate are reduced, the glass substrate becomes easily deflected during the creation of liquid crystal cells and columnar spacer are brought into rubbing contact with an alignment film, which causes the occurrence of leakage of light.SOLUTION: A display device includes an array substrate that has an alignment film, an opposing substrate that has columnar spacers, a sealant, and a liquid crystal layer that is arranged between the array substrate and the opposing substrate and within an area defined by the sealant. The columnar spacers are arranged to bring into contact with the alignment film. Within the area defined by the sealant, the columnar spacers are densely provided at the center part compared with the peripheral part. |
