A defect inspection method for a laminated polarizing film obtained in a laminated polarizing film production process including a first lamination step (I) for obtaining a polarizing film (3) in which a polarizer protection film (2) is laminated onto a polarizer film (1) and a second lamination step (II) for obtaining a laminated polarizing film (6) in which a release film (4) is laminated onto one surface side of the polarizing film (3) obtained in the first lamination step (I) and a protective film (5) is laminated onto the other surface side, said defect inspection method including a first cross transmission inspection (10), first reflection scattering inspection (20), and first transmission scattering inspection (30) carried out on the polarizing film (3) obtained in the first lamination step (I) and a second reflection scattering inspection (40), second transmission scattering inspection (50), and second cross transmission inspection (60) carried out on the laminated polarizing film (6) obtained in the second lamination step (II).
