PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder of a solid light emitting element which enables improvement of the lighting efficiency, reduces limitations on an attachment method of an optical system, and prevents increase of the size, and to provide the solid light emitting element.SOLUTION: A holder 30 holds a solid light emitting element 20 and includes: an opening part 322 into which a light emitting part 22 of the solid light emitting element 20 may be inserted; a taper part 323 which is erected from an end part of the opening part 322 in a periphery of the opening part 322 at a predetermined angle of inclination; and an outer periphery part 324 which is formed around the taper part 323 and forms an upper surface of the holder 30. A distance between an upper surface of the outer periphery part 324 and an upper surface of a light emitting surface of the light emitting part 22 is 0.5 mm or smaller.
