Equipment for control and command, in an electronic manner, of a planter is described, for starting and stopping planting in precise locations and at precise distances, using geographic location information, received by the GPS receiver, that is compared with a digital map stored in the RAM, non-volatile memory or in a removable data-storage device. The planting region is defined by a polygon (6) that may have any format. Some of the edges of this polygon are called "start heads" (7), whilst others are called "end head" (8), which are the points through which the planter has to enter and leave the polygon during the planting process. Planting takes place in regions called "parcels" (9), and between successive parcels unplanted spaces, known as "corridors" (10), are left. Each sequence of parcels and corridors that start in a start head and finish in an end head are called "passes". The electronic controller has the exclusive capability of producing parcels having lengths that are predetermined and programmable for each parcel, with separation corridors between parcels that likewise have predetermined and variable widths. Said controller also has the exclusive capability of sending commands to the planter in order for the latter to change the seed variety before starting planting in any parcel. |
