A problem to be solved by the present invention is to allow actions of a person performing an exercise getting on and off of a bench to be carried out smoothly, and to avoid contact as much as possible with the person's chest part when training. Provided is a barbell, comprising a main bar (2) which further comprises mounting parts (2a) with which weights (W) are fitted and mounted upon both ends of the main bar (2). A pair of extension rods (3) are disposed in an integrated manner upon the main bar further inward than the pair of mounting parts and protruding upward from the main bar. A pair of gripping bars (4) are disposed upon the upper end parts of the extension rods extending in mutually approaching directions and approximately parallel to the main bar. A cross-section of a fitting part between the main bar and the weights is not a true circle shape, and a straight section (F) is formed upon at least the lower portion of the weights. |
