Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for processing a tangible surgical image. The apparatus for processing the tangible surgical image comprises: an image input unit for receiving an input of an endoscopic image provided from a surgical endoscopic instrument; a screen display unit for outputting the endoscopic image on a specific region; and a screen display control unit for changing the specific region of the screen display unit for outputting the endoscopic image corresponding to the viewpoint of the surgical endoscopic instrument. The apparatus enables a user to feel the sense of reality during an actual surgical situation, by changing an output position of the endoscopic image outputted to a monitor and watched by the user corresponding to the motion of the surgical endoscopic instrument.
