PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear sleeve cover which reduces a work amount in work for modifying a damaged cable, and a cable modification method employing the same.SOLUTION: A linear sleeve cover 1 insulating and covering a linear sleeve 8 connecting element wires of a cable with each other includes three layers: an abrasion-proof layer 11 formed outside; an insulation layer 13 formed inside; and an abrasion detection layer 12 which is formed between the abrasion-proof layer 11 and the insulation layer 13 and of which the hue is different from that of the abrasion-proof layer 11. In the case where the linear sleeve cover 1 is brought into contact with a tree or the like and the abrasion-proof layer 11 is damaged by vibrations caused by an air or the like, the abrasion detection layer 12 is exposed, thereby securing an abrasion detection function. Therefore, when exchanging a damaged cable, by adopting a work method of "cutting and opening the existent cable in a damaged section and connecting a modification cable for a length corresponding to a cut portion and the existent cable using the linear sleeve", a modification section to exchange the cable is shortened and the work amount can be reduced. |
