PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing interruption of function of a finisher when the image forming apparatus connected to the finisher comes to a power saving state.SOLUTION: Relating to an image forming apparatus connected to a finisher and a control method thereof, there is provided power source control means which controls power supply so that the image forming apparatus comes into a power saving state or a power state other than that. When it is detected that a sheet is set in the finisher, shifting to the power saving state by the power source control means is prohibited. If no sheet is set in the finisher, under a condition that a condition for shifting to the power saving state is met, control is made so as to shift to the power saving state by the power source control means. |
