PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain halftone processing results while suppressing image quality deterioration, e.g., jaggy or Moire, without mixing or switching the halftone processing results of different types.SOLUTION: An AM screening unit 11 performs screening of input image data. An image data integration unit 21 calculates the total value of input image data as a first total value, for every screening cell. An image data integration unit 22 calculates the total value of input image data subjected to screening as a second total value, for every cell. A white pixel counter 23 and a black pixel counter 24 count the number of white pixels and the number of black pixels included in the image data subjected to screening, for each cell. A correction amount calculation unit 25 calculates the correction amount of the image data subjected to screening, based on the first and second total values, and the number of white pixels or the number of black pixels. |
