The invention relates to a method for producing acrylic acid comprising the steps: (i) preparing a substance flow containing a formaldehyde source and ethanoic acid; and (ii) bringing the substance flow into contact with an aldol condensation catalyst containing a zeolitic material, the skeleton structure of the zeolitic material according to (ii) having Si, O, and a molar ratio Al : Si of between 0 : 1 and 0.001 : 1.
