PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounting method capable of mounting a component onto a base plate even when the base plate is placed on a carrier in an orientation different from a proper orientation without making error-stop.SOLUTION: The component mounting method includes the steps of: determining the orientation of a base plate 3 held by a carrier 5 (step ST2); and when the determined orientation of the base plate 3 is identical to a proper orientation, mounting the component 4 onto the base plate 3 on the basis of a predetermined mounting position data (step ST4); and when the determined orientation of the base plate 3 is different from a proper orientation, mounting the component 4 onto the base plate 3 on the basis of a mounting position data after coordinate transformation, which is obtained by performing coordinate transformation on the predetermined mounting position data in response to the orientation of the base plate 3 (step ST5). |
