GEAR MACHINE

The present gear machine relates to the field of hydraulic and pneumatic positive displacement machines with a rotating working member, in which the movement of the pumped medium takes place in a direction perpendicular to the axes of rotation of the gears. The present machine comprises a housing (1) with two cylindrical bores (5) and (6) having gear wheels (7) and (8) disposed therein, said gear wheels being engaged with one another. The wheels have helical teeth. The profile of the teeth of one of the wheels in transverse section is generated by arcs of circles (14) that are offset from the axis of rotation of the wheel, and the profile of the teeth of the other wheel, also in transverse section, is generated by portions of the fronts of cycloidal curves (15), which gives rise to an eccentric cycloidal engagement of the wheels. This eccentric cycloidal engagement makes it possible to produce a machine that exhibits greater efficiency and fewer surges.
