PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroxyl group-containing polyether production method in which a hydroxyl group-containing polyether of high molecular weight can be produced with a smaller molecular weight distribution.SOLUTION: Provided is a hydroxyl group-containing polyether production method characterized in producing a hydroxyl group-containing polyether (I) having a weight average molecular weight of 5,000 to 500,000 by, in the presence of a composite metal cyanide complex catalyst and the following plasticizer (Z), ring-opening addition reacting a cyclic ether compound to an initiator comprising at least one hydroxyl group per one molecule. Plasticizer (Z): a compound that has a hydroxyl value of 2.0 or less and that has a weight average molecular weight less than that of the produced hydroxyl group-containing polyether (I), and is one or more compound selected from the group consisting of phthalates, epoxy plasticizers, polyester plasticizers, polyether plasticizers, polyvinyl polymers, aliphatic hydrocarbon compounds having 8 to 18 carbon atoms, and chlorinated paraffins having 10 to 30 carbon atoms. |
