This imaging apparatus is provided with a base unit having a power transmission unit for transmitting power by wireless, a power-receiving unit for receiving power by wireless from the power transmission unit, an imaging unit operating on the basis of the power received by the power-receiving unit, and a movable unit having a first communication unit for transmitting by wireless the image information acquired by the imaging unit. The movable unit is movable relative to the base unit. According to the present invention, it is possible to improve the reliability of signal and power transmission/reception, and to alleviate deficiency due to limitation on actuating cycles arising from a mechanical contact.
