A household appliance controller and a setting method therefor. The household appliance controller comprises: an inbuilt microprocessor (1) and an inbuilt voice generator (2) connected to the microprocessor. The voice generator (2) generates voice sequences to guide a user operator to follow the voice sequences step by step to perform operations, so as to accomplish the settings for the controller, and thus to enable the controller to perform various operation controls on a selected household appliance. By means of the above-mentioned embodiment, a user can follow more flexible and shorter operation steps during the controller settings process. The operation is concise and the setting process is easy and fast.
