An arrangement for a rail used in movable sockets can receive various sockets fitted into and rotated in the body of the rail. The arrangement comprises an electric energy-conducting rail with a body containing an inside rectangular slot which extends along the entire length of the rail, forming an access and housing for movable sockets to be inserted into the rail. Once the location where the movable sockets are to be mounted along the longitudinal profile of the rail is selected, the metallic contacts of each socket are introduced into the slot in the rail, through the front opening, and rotated through 90 degrees, causing an interference fit between the convex protrusions and the metal plates, closing the elctric contact and energising the sockets. To remove a socket, it is again rotated through 90 degrees relative to the rail, causing the metal contacts to separate from the plates and hence de-energising the socket. |
