A pneumatic tire (1) having at least four ribs (23), extending along the tire circumferential direction in a tread section (2), partitioned and formed therein by at least three circumferential direction grooves (22) that extend along the tire circumferential direction. At least two ribs (23) on either side of the tire equatorial surface (CL), being a rib (23) arranged along one side in the tire width direction and a rib (23) arranged along the other side, protrude further towards the outside in the tire radial direction than a contour line (L) in the tread surface (21) in the meridian cross section. Said ribs (23) are formed such that the amount of protrusion (G) gradually decreases from one side in the tire width direction towards the other side and a cap tread (25) constituting the tread surface (21) of the tread section (2) comprises a variety of different compounds. An area in the rib (23) having the smallest protrusion amount (G) has a smaller loss tangent (tanδ) for the compounds at 60°C than an area in the rib (23) having the largest protrusion amount (G). |
