Provided are a media processing method and device. The media processing method of the present invention comprises: acquiring a media contents directory of at least one media server, and recognizing media description information in at least two media resource objects in the media contents directory; when media resources respectively corresponding to the at least two media resource objects have the same media contents, integrating the at least two media resource objects, so that the at least two integrated media resource objects are represented by one media identifier; and according to capability information about a media playing device which is selected by a user, sending a media resource address corresponding to a first media resource object to the media playing device, so that the media playing device acquires and plays a media resource corresponding to the media resource address, the first media resource object being one of the at least two media resource objects suitable for the media playing device to play. |
