METHOD FOR PRODUCING ACRYLIC ACID USING AN ALKALI-FREE, ALKALINE-EARTH-FREE ZEOLITIC MATERIAL

The invention relates to a method for producing acrylic acid, comprising the steps of (i) providing a flow S4 that contains a formaldehyde source and acetic acid; (ii) bringing said flow S4 into contact with an aldol condensation catalyst that contains a zeolitic material comprising aluminium in its framework structure, a flow S6 being obtained which contains acrylic acid, the framework structure of the zeolitic material according to (ii) containing YO2 and Al2O3 where Y is a tetravalent element; the total content of alkali metal and alkaline earth metal in the zeolitic material according to (ii), calculated as alkali metal oxide and alkaline earth metal oxide, lying between 0 and 0.1 wt.% in relation to the total weight of the zeolitic material, and the aldol condensation catalyst according to (ii) containing, outside of the framework structure of the zeolitic material contained therein, between 0 and 1 wt.% of vanadium, relating to vanadium in the form of vanadium(V) oxide.
