PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a driver in a vehicle to easily recognize a traffic sign above a road.SOLUTION: A sensor 12 detects a distance between an own vehicle and an obstacle present in front of the own vehicle. A pattern generation part 16, on the basis of a distance that is detected with the sensor 12, generates an illumination pattern of an illumination region including a range along a height direction being higher than a vehicle, which is the illumination pattern in which a height of a border on the lower side of the illumination region becomes higher as the distance detected with the sensor 12 comes to be shorter. A control part 18 controls a front lamp so as to project the illumination pattern generated by the pattern generation part 16.
