The present invention relates to a walking assistance system with the improved degree of freedom during walking for rehabilitation and a parallel rail system for walking assistance. The walking assistance system comprises: a cable; a first winch for winding the cable and providing tension with respect to the cable; a second winch for winding the cable and providing tension with respect to the cable in the opposite direction of the tension provided from the first winch; a wearable tool connected with the cable and worn on the upper body of a patient; and at least one pulley for converting the direction of the tension provided from the first winch and the second winch to the direction of the wearable tool.
