PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new lithium composite metal oxide that maintains an excellent Li storage capacity even when used for a secondary battery that is driven with a high voltage, in other words, is used as an active material showing an excellent capacity retention rate.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a lithium composite metal oxide represented by general formula: LiNiCoMnDO(0.2≤a≤1.5, b+c+d+e=1, 0<e<1, D is at least one element selected from Fe, Cr, Cu, Zn, Ca, Mg, Zr, S, Si, Na, K, Al, Ti, p, Ga, Ge, V, Mo, Nb, W, La, Hf, and Rf, 1.7≤f≤2.1). The lithium composite metal oxide has a high manganese part that is a metal oxide comprising at least Ni, Co and Mn, with a composition ratio of Ni, Co and Mn represented by Ni:Co:Mn=g:h:i (where, g+h+i=1, 0<g<1, 0<h<c, d<i<1) on a surface layer of the lithium composite metal oxide, and also has a metal oxidation part on the outermost surface layer of the high manganese part. |
