PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized tripod which can favorably transmit a rotation drive force between a shaft and the tripod, and a tripod type constant velocity joint assembly which employs the tripod.SOLUTION: A tripod of a tripod type constant velocity joint assembly 100 comprises an outer ring 110, a tripod 120, rolling bodies 130, and a shaft 102 connected to the tripod, and also comprises a boss part 121, and a tripod shaft part 122. The boss part 121 comprises an irregular engagement part 121b which is engaged with an irregular engaged part 142 formed at an end face of the shaft at one end face, and formed so as to be capable of transmitting the rotation drive force between the shaft and the tripod, and an inter-shaft recess 121c which is formed at least at one point between phases at which a plurality of tripod shaft parts at the other end face are arranged. |
