PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of adjusting and fixing a direction of installing a ground electrode to a desired direction while using an ignition plug that is a general-purpose product.SOLUTION: A cylindrical fixing jig 1 holding an ignition plug 3 to be rotatable in a circumferential direction about a central axis of the ignition plug 3 assumed as a rotational axis and a pressure jig 2 that includes a pressure-jig male screw portion 23 mated with a plug-hole female screw portion 85 and a pressure-jig cylindrical portion 20 pressing the fixing jig 1 are provided inside of a plug hole 84, and the pressure jig 2 presses the fixing jig 1, thereby holding the ignition plug 3 in a rotating state at a position at which a protrusion direction of a ground electrode 331 of the ignition plug 3 is at a predetermined angle &thetas;with respect to a cylinder internal air flow TMB flowing in a combustion chamber 80. |
