PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide that is high in solution processability, transparency, and heat resistance and very low in linear thermal expansion coefficient.SOLUTION: A polyimide comprises a repeating unit a represented by a predetermined formula, and a repeating unit b represented by a predetermined formula. When a total molar number of the repeating unit a and the repeating unit b is defined as 100 mol%, a composition ratio between the repeating unit a and the repeating unit b is 95/5-55/45 (mol%/mol%).
