1. An augmented reality system comprising a visor wearable by a user in a physical environment, said visor comprising:
a range finder scanning system disposed on said visor to scan a surrounding region of said physical environment; a local positioning system to identify the position of said visor relative to said physical environment; an orientation and motion system to determine the orientation and motion of said visor relative to said environment; a processor communicatively coupled to said scanning system, said local positioning system, and said orientation and motion system, said processor configured to:
generate a virtual map of said surrounding region based on data obtained from said scanning system;generate an augmented reality for said virtual map based on said user's position, orientation and motion within said physical environment based on data obtained from said local position system and said orientation and motion system; andgenerate an augmented reality video stream reflective of said user's position, orientation and motion within said physical environment; and a display communicatively coupled to said processor and positioned on said visor to display said augmented reality video stream to said user.
