Use of an organic UV filter compound selected from an oxanilide compound, in a diesel fuel composition for the purpose of modifying the ignition delay and/or the burn period of the diesel fuel composition. The oxanilide compound is preferably selected from oxanilide (N,N'-diphenyl-ethanediamide) and a substituted oxanilide.
