<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cryopreservation implement which can freeze even a small biological sample and can quickly freeze the biological sample by preventing a thermal insulation effect due to a nitrogen gas. <P>SOLUTION: The cryopreservation implement is the one for the cryopreservation of a biological sample such as a tissue piece and a cell and has a sample placing part including a graphite sheet on which a biological sample is placed and a holding part fixed at the base end part of the sample placing part. At least in the region of the graphite sheet on which the biological sample is placed, no penetrating hole is provided.
