<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variant detection method, capable of discriminating a heterozygote having gene variant contributing to sprout inhibition of wheat. <P>SOLUTION: The method of detecting functional depression variant of abscisic acid 8'-hydroxylase gene of genome A of test wheat includes: performing, with a genome DNA derived from the test wheat as a template, nucleic acid amplification using a primer set including (i) an oligonucleotide forward primer including a base sequence of at least 15 continuous bases on a predetermined base sequence located within the third intron of abscisic acid 8'-hydroxylase gene; and (ii) an oligonucleotide reverse primer containing a complementary sequence of a base sequence of at least 15 continuous bases on a predetermined base sequence located within the fourth exon or the fourth intron of the abscisic acid 8'-hydroxylase gene to detect insertion deletion variant in abscisic acid 8'-hydroxylase gene of the genome A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
