Electrodes. - Porous secondary battery electrodes of iron, nickel, cobalt, or mixtures thereof, are made by sintering metal powder at a comparatively low temperature, which may be 500-700‹ C., and thereafter subjecting the mass to one or more sinterings at higher temperatures, which may be 800-1200‹ C., in a reducing or inert atmosphere or in a vacuum. Other finely divided metals such as copper, or reducible compounds such as oxides, hydrates, or carbonates, may be added. Specifications 311,141 and 331>544 are referred to. |
