The disclosure pertains to a mounting system (9) for mounting and/or removing a turbine component (7) from a turbine (30). The mounting system (9) comprises a suspended rail structure (1) for moving the turbine component (7) with a traveller (10) which movably connects a holder (11, 12) for holding the turbine component (7) to the rail structure (1). It further comprises a lifter (5) with a support frame (3) which is attachable to the lifter (5) and configured for receiving the turbine component (7) with the holder (11, 12). The disclosure further refers to a method for mounting and removing a turbine component (7).
