Method and device for digital volumetric tomography

The method involves controlling an X-ray source to transmit X-rays of different frequency ranges. Signals are collected by a detector device and stored as two-dimensional individual images in association with an angular position. A three-dimensional representation of scanned spatial volume is reconstructed from the individual images. A gray value compensation is implemented based on a plastic reference body, during image-processing or reconstruction to balance differences in an entire brightness of images that are recorded in different ranges in a digital volumetric tomography system (2). An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing digital volumetric tomography.
