<p>A signal transmission device comprises: a signal transmission unit (28) that transmits a video signal as a differential signal through an HDMI cable using a plurality of channels to an external device, and performs bidirectional communication using the CEC line (84) in the HDMI cable; a video signal storage unit (19) that stores individual video signals that can be transmitted, by using the signal transmission unit (28), to the external device through the HDMI cable; an additional information storage unit (17,21,22) that stores additional information on the individual video signals stored in the video signal storage unit (19); and a control unit (20) that performs control in such a manner that the additional information on the individual video signals stored in the additional information storage unit is transmitted to the external device through the CEC line (84) of the HDMI cable.</p> |
