A method for producing electrolyzed water of biocidal composition for ornamental preservation is described. The method comprises preparing an electrolyte solution comprising water and a mixture of at least four salts, in which the salts are selected from acidic, basic or neutral salts, and in any combination. Boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes may be used in the cell. The power supply is also operated to apply a predetermined voltage to the electrolyte solution to produce an electrolyzed water composition comprising a plurality of active molecular and ionic species having rehydration activity. The mixture of at least four salts of the electrolyte are selected such that the electrolyzed water composition comprises a free accessible chlorine concentration in the range of from 10 to 10000 ppm, and/or a dissolved 03 concentration in the range of from 0.1 to 750 ppm. |
