A ballast water treatment apparatus is disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the ballast water treatment apparatus comprises: a transfer pipe where sea water introduced from the outside of a ship is transferred; one or more ballast water storage tank connected to the transfer pipe to store the sea water introduced from the transfer pipe; a sterilization substance generating unit connected to the ballast water storage tank and generating a sterilization substance to be injected to the ballast water storage tank; and a heating unit heating the sea water supplied to the sterilization substance generating unit.
