The present invention relates to an elevator monitoring device restricting the use through face recognition. The elevator monitoring device restricting the use through face recognition includes: a plurality of first cameras which generate image information and transmit the image information to an image information extracting unit; the image information extracting unit which analyzes the image information inputted through the first cameras, extracts the image information of a section where a movement is detected, and transmits the image information of the section to a shape detecting unit; the shape detecting unit which detects a shape of a person in the image information extracted in the image information extracting unit; a storage unit which stores at least one facial information and resident information corresponding to the facial information; and a face matching unit which detects the facial information with a high degree of matching, and transmits the resident information corresponding to the detected facial information to an information displaying unit.
