<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To derive a motion vector that minimizes deterioration of image quality accurately from among a plurality of motion vectors, even when there are a plurality of candidates of motion vector in a certain block. <P>SOLUTION: A motion vector derivation unit 14 derives a motion vector between corresponding blocks in two image frames. A candidate vector generation unit 20 generates a plurality of candidate vectors for the calculation object block of motion vector. A block texture extraction unit 22 extracts the block texture in an image frame for which a candidate vector is generated. An intensity difference calculation unit 30 calculates the cumulative value of intensity difference between adjacent pixels constituting the block texture for a plurality of block textures thus extracted. When the maximum cumulative value is equal to or larger than a predetermined times of the remaining cumulative value, a motion vector selection unit 26 selects the candidate vector generated from the block texture where the maximum value is obtained as the motion vector of the object block. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
