The present invention relates to an Aster glehni extract, a fraction thereof and an active compound isolated therefrom effective in treating, preventing and improving hyperuricemia or gout. The present invention provides the Aster glehni extract, the fraction thereof and the active compound isolated therefrom, where 6′-O-caffeoylampelopsisionoside, 6′-O-caffeoylroseoside, 6′-O-caffeoylsonchuinoside C, 6′-O-caffeoyldihydrosyringin, 6′-O-caffeoyldihydrosyringin, and glehnoside have efficacy of inhibiting generation and dropping concentration of uric acid. Therefore, the Aster glehni extract, the fraction thereof and the active compound isolated therefrom according to the present invention may be usefully used as an active component of medicines, health foods, etc. needed in treating, preventing and improving the hyperuricemia or the gout, which is a disease caused by increase of uric acid concentration.
