<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content data management device which manages content data for electronic instruments. <P>SOLUTION: A PC executing a management soft is connected with an electronic musical instrument via a USB I/O and also with a server on a communication network via a network I/O. An HDD stores content data, account information, a decryption program, and conversion rules. Synchronization processing is to be instructed after selecting content data. When the selected data is encrypted and has a license, the data is to be decrypted by the decryption program (S31 and S32). If it is necessary to convert the data, the data is to be converted by using a conversion rule corresponding to a model ID (S33 and S34).
