<p>A vane compressor includes a housing having a cylindrical cylinder block. The cylinder block has therein a rotor mounted on a rotary shaft for rotation therewith and having a plurality of vanes. The inner wall of the cylinder block and the vanes form a compression chamber. The housing has therein a suction port and a suction chamber. The suction chamber is in communication with the suction port and extends in the peripheral direction of the rotary shaft between the cylinder block and the housing. The suction chamber and the suction port are arranged in an overlapping relation to the compression chamber in the radial direction of the rotary shaft.</p> |
