Disclosed is a driving assistance method for a vehicle (1), in which the surroundings of the vehicle are detected by means of sensors and are represented at least in part in a display unit (19). A target position (25) of the vehicle is registered in the surroundings of the vehicle. Said target position can be displaced (27, 28, 29, 30) and/or rotated (36) in the representation of the surroundings of the vehicle with the aid of an input unit (32). Driving indications for steering the vehicle to the target position can be output to the driver while at least one driving function (e.g. steering) can be controlled automatically.
